I think that in the context of your expression of feelings, it would generally fit the category of "expletive". Most dictionaries, if not all, will list it as either "obscene" or "vulgar". Perhaps the authors and editors were mistaken or are just out of touch with modern reality? Or perhaps there is more to learn about life.
