>Mark I do have ODBC driver for Computerease database. It has its own datafiles, however it can like it datafiles to Access and create a Access database. The datafile extensio is *.dat if that helps.

Can you open a COPY of the DAT file with a text editor [WordPad or Notepad]? Are the fields delimited? Fixed Length? Something else [proprietary]? Is there a need to keep this data in its original format instead of just converting everything to a VFP app? There may just be no way for VFP to efficiently access the data.
