My son Daniel, age 10, has been using the computer since about age 4 or 5, and never asked for instructions, other than to have me install a new CD or something like that. I think the next generation finds this stuff pretty intuitive.

About 6 weeks ago, he started asking me technical questions about HTML syntax, so I showed him a few things and gave him one of my introductory books. When he's digested that, I guess I could show him Web Connection and VFP. I'm not going to push it, though -- just follow his curiosity level.

I do have to regularly pry his fingers off the keyboard long enough to read books, so it's good to keep balance as much as possible.
