We've been looking at the Symbol Handhelds here too for possibly Physical Counts in our inventory software.

Currently, we just use a MARS MEQ or a PERCON PDT or somethign like that, but if the Research department (that could be me, I forget actually) comes up with any real suggestions I'll let you know.
