You can already get dictation addons for both Palm and Handspring though the Palm examples are completely separate from the Palm and cannot be synchnonised. As for handwriting, there is a commercial PalmOS product that apparently works well (I haven't looked at it).

FWIW I have asked the chaps to obtain and test a Psion. Might as well be complete! I'll let you know what they come up with...
