Just for the record, I was at the Waco stand-off for the duration ( on the swat team ) and at the McLaren standoff in West Texas.The later group was a poorly organized joke, the former where a bunch of fanatic murderers ( with innocent children who were held prisoner ) who stockpiled their guns from illegal sources. Not one was bought in a store. I don't know where I said I was a current member of the NRA. I said that many of them are fine people and some are not. I was a member up until I left police work. I know very well how high on the hog the upper level live as do the upper level members of the ACLU, Greenpeace and all other lobby organizations. I do take offense at your blanket statement that all NRA people are myopic a..holes ( I was a member and would still be if I had the energy )and you will stand by that. The great majority are your neighbors/coworkers who belong because they fear for their safety in their own homes and the 2nd amendment is an instrument that offers them hope, because the police simply cannot and will not ever furnish them the protection they deserve. I also will take a stand on my right, as is written in the constitution, to keep and bear arms. Until it is amended and ratified by all the states, which will not ever happen in our or our childrens' lifetimes, I will continue to bear them. My wife and I still carry one on a daily basis and I sleep well at night knowing it. It would seem to me to be a much better use of yours and other time instead of throwing names and cursings at people to whom you do not know, spend it on passing better D.W.I. , assault, domestic violence laws, etc.... Put crimianls in a prison system they fear not one that "rehabilitates them into better organized career criminals". The movie Cool Hand Luke is a good model from which to start.

Advice, when in Dallas do not let it be known to much that you are for stricter control. Those good ole boys at the firing range are not as forgiving. Heck, I might, be there I still shoot in competitions all over the state.
