And that the rest of VFP (the less robust part if you ask me) may survive as a front end in parallel with Basic, C etc.? Are you then not really confirming the title of this thread _and_ the theory of MS as broadcast _and_ its less than official agenda?

Marc,
Two things:
a) Tom can correct me if I'm wrong, but my understanding is that the VFP data engine will be 'incorporated' into SQL Server (lite) not replaced by. Everyone, even Gates, acknowleges that the Fox Engine kicks tail over anything else.
b) Although there are issues with I/O speed and an interpreted language as opposed to a compiled language, I still believe that the VFP front end is quite robust. It utilizes inheritance and polymorphism better than any other MS product. If I had the OOP and function libraries of VFP, the raw speed of C and the general flexability (particularly with data exchange/communications) of VB, I really couldn't find room to complain.
