Cursors are temporary and the "internal" file is deleted when you close the cursor. VFP creates TMP files for work space. The cursors created using SQL are stored within those parent TMP files. They don't have a real presence on the disk.

The parent TMP files won't be deleted until VFP closes gracefully. If VFP ABENDS (Abnormally Ends) then those files will remain and you will have to delete them manually.

Why do the files need to be deleted?
