There are two basic types of frameworks:
1. Frame Centric (i.e. Visual MaxFrame Professional).
2. Object Centric (i.e. CodeBook)

Each has it’s place and it is up to the user to decide (do your homework) which concept is best. Check out frameworks here and on the Wiki. Ask questions. Which frameworks have forums on the InterNet where you can go for help? Check out these forums for activity and the level of professionalism and expertise expressed. Then ask some more questions.

Whichever framework you choose will take time and effort to learn. My personal favorite frameworks are Visual FoxExpress and Visual MaxFrame Professional. I use both and each one has its place. My opinion is that if you are going to migrate an application to the web, use VFE. VFE is good for a team of developers as one or more members can be involved in creating and maintaining the class library. VMP is my favorite for pure desktop applications. You can be on your own or with a team of developers. Again, each one is a powerful tool and well worth the investment.
