One of the main factors is years of experience. You would be a rare developer to have 10+ of experience with both VFP and VB.

Like you have said about the demand of expert VFP developers, I think that there would be a 90% chance that VFP job would be better paying. Although, you might make just as much with VB with more hours to accomplish the same results.
