Thanks, tried it, but it seems to go a little deeper than this. The system appears to be mixing up the physical/logical representation of the drive letters. Whilst you can reassign the drive letters this way, appears Win2000 is occasionally changing the physical drive -> logical drive name mapping whilst all looks the same at the interface level.

Also, the problem of the operating system sharing both drives is the major puzzler :(
