Sendmail isn't something that you just change a couple of settings. There is a whole language that you use for configuration. Then you have to generate a machine parsable config file. I suggest that you install webmin. www.webmin.com
Use it to configure sendmail.

These aren't DSL problems. These are lack of configuration problems. What do you mean "It sends to the root user instead of...". What sends to the root user? A form? An error log?
