Don't sweat it. Chats/newsgroups are strange environments, and most of us at some point or another have snapped at someone in a forum like this and regretted our words later on. Thanks for the apology.

>Not too strong.... but what was "crass" what what I said? And where does the "imbecile" part come in? You are right -- this is a public forum. And that's why you owe me a public answer on this.

Vin,
I have reread that part of my post and you are correct. I feel that I owe you rather more than a public explanation - I owe you a public apology. And I offer this unreservedly. Not only was my phrasing too strong, it was also erroneous and particularly egregious! I could attempt an explanation but fear that this would smack of excuse creativity and also be lacking in merit and purpose.
The phrasing was, as you say, disgraceful, and also inappropriate. I hope that you believe me, when I state that character assassination is not in my nature and that this offensive post was the exception and not the norm.
Seeking your forgiveness,
Yours sincerely,
Houston.
