There's strong ADO support in VFP 7; as to whether there are problems with using ADO bound controls and ActiveX containers, I haven't tried these controls to see if they behave any better under VFP 7, but there is considerably wider support of many ActiveX behaviors, including datatypes that were not supported previously and the option to use early binding.

I suspect the problems with the controls you mention are related to them being ActiveX containers rather than related to their ADO-based behaviors.
