There is an almost forgotten option to base the listbox on a popup, and a popup can have colors as you like. For dynamic changes, though, I figure you should have to manipulate the popup (and does anyone remember the syntax for that) and refresh the listbox after any change (if you add an item, or change an item's color). I don't think too many people have played with that. I didn't - I keep remembering that as an option which I never made use of.
