Well, I'd respond by saying that even with overwhelming DNA evidence justice isn't always accomplished.
O.J. Simpson
As far as the death penalty goes I do think that a society has to have this as a part of their 'peace keeping' duties.
I think that it must be approached with extreme care.
I think that it must be sure.
I think that it must be consistent.
I think it must be carefully applied.
I think the alternatives must always be considered.
I think it must be applied in certain cases.
I think that man is fallable.
We will all die.
I think that the eternal consequences of dispatching some unprepared soul is what scares me the most. I'd rather spend some time trying to help that individual get prepared. I'm more than willing to spend a few years in this attempt.
Many will refuse.
Many will weep for lost souls.
Best,
DD
A man is no fool who gives up that which he cannot keep for that which he cannot lose.
Everything I don't understand must be easy!
The difficulty of any task is measured by the capacity of the agent performing the work.
