Hi Al,

Yes, it's an IDE drive. The only thing I could find in the MS KB was that the drive needs to have NVRAM to retain the setting (Article ID: Q233541)

You'd think that there would be a registry key that could control/remember this. Like they've mentioned in the VFP forum, maybe with the next service pack. If I knew how, I'd write a batch program to run at start up to disable it...

>If it's an IDE drive, there has been a lot of discussion of this in the VFP forum. Current consensus is - no one knows how to do it, it looks like the ATAPI driver is resetting the value at boot time regardless of what may be in the registry.


VFP6 SP5, VFP8 SP1, VFP 9 SP 1 and Win XP SP 3 (unless otherwise specified)
