And, IMO, the transition from C# to VB would be easier than the other way around if you find you need to learn one or the other.

Skeptics can scoff all they want, but I predict plenty of C# work. The industry pundits seem ready to hype it, and the 800lb. gorilla is pushing it hard (what language are the .NET examples written in?).
