Please defend this comment:

"Even today, the rest of the world depends on us to secure their way of life. "

Who? Canada? Mexico?

>I am not belittleing anyone's contribution in the big one.

Yeah, right. The comment to Evan about Canada not being threatened from 1939-1945 clearly shows your knowledge of their contribution.

> It was a group effort by far and a great logistical feat. My point is that the outcome would have been different had it not been for us entering the war for whatever reason. If you don't think that giving war material to a country in need isn't being in the war then you need to speak to the families of merchant marines that were killed at sea by U-Boats prior to 12/7/41. You can live with that fact or deny it. If you deny it then you my friend need to read the history books a little closer.

Why don't you check your history and figure out when that aid started flowing. You think it was there from the start? Think again. Great Britain and Canada were there at the start, while we were taking a powder.

> The only thing the Germans feared more than our economic might was the Russians indifference to taking prisoners. The Japanese knew the minute we won at Midway that their expansion was over and they went on the defensive. Their goal all along was to get as close to the west coast as they coud and force a negotiated truce because they knew they could not beat us. Head to the library and get your facts right.

Now you are reduced to just making things up. Where in the hell have I ever posted anything about this?

> To this day we are damned if we do
>and damned if we don't. Everyone wants to tell us how to do business and screams foul when we act on what some moral minority over here thinks is right. I think we should allow everyone to struggle on their own without our trillions of dollars worth of aid that consistently gets thrown in our faces as they cash the checks. We have our own share of problems that need attention here without playing policeman and mother to the rest of the world when we are not wanted. Let's keep that aid at home for a while. It might would also foster a little appreciation, which we never ask for. Yeah we ask for favors in return like land military bases and priority trade agreements. I think it is the least they could do for a couple of billion of my tax dollars. What we get in return is being spied on and criticized by our "allies". I think the shoe on the other foot we would have few allies lining up to help us.

Hey, you know what? We do it too. We spy on our allies.

And as far as our allies helping us, they have been there. Great Britain stood beside us when we bombed Libya, and as I recollect, they were there in the Gulf War. As was Canada. Fighting a man we sold arms to just a few years earlier.

And as far as your isolationist ideology goes, check your history and see how well that served us back in the 1930s.
