I emailed a question about this issue to xcase and got the following response:
--------
Views are the only database object not reverse engineered into xCase. xCase
stores Views in a complex way in order to allow automatic maintenance of the
View as you modify elements in the model that affect it such as FK or names.
The parser required to reverse engineer the View in that format is far from
trivial and this is why currently this is not done. On the other hand if you
define the View in xCase, it will be automatically maintained and the DBC
will be of course updated.
--------
His point about the nontrivial nature of reverse engineering the views is
understandable.
I'm going to give the view designer in xcase another shot since the maintainability issue is a very strong point. Still, I will be left with the more complex views which will have to be maintained in code.

As to the Glendale Galleria, I stay clear of it! Especially around this time of year (whew)... Unfortunatly, it is the only Nordstrom's around here so I know that some feel they have no choice.

>>I was wondering if anyone here had a strategy for using views in xcase. Specifically I am noticing that I cannot import views into an already created xcase model if they exist in the DBC. So though it is easier to define views thru the VFP view tool, I cannot update them into Xcase. What I'm looking for is some way to continue to use Xcase for its strengths, which lie in the area of modeling the DBC, and use VFP and eview for its strengths in creating local views.
>Any suggestions would be appreciated.

>I raised these and other questions with xCase about two years ago. At that time they had no plans to incorporate such features to support views. You might try e-mailing them and see if they have any suggestions. They responded to my e-mail within a few hours.

>My sister in law lives in North Hollywood - about 1/2 block from Burbank. Whenever we go to visit my wife and her sister have to go to the Galorea in Glendale to go shopping. I hate to shop!!! Well, if it is a computer item, or anything related to guitar that is O.K.
