Sorry for the late reponse but i have been working on several other projects.

I found out that the UNION clause was not the right solution for the problem I had.

I Create a temporary table from the archive table and append the data from the actual table into this temp table with all the indexen set. Then i use the sql select statement on this table to present the data wanted. This works ok.
