I have not seen that sort of property in HTML. THere is some data control with drop down select lists. There may be Java properties, but in most CGI environments, we had to Validate after the submit (post) to the INP. If the data was entered as required, processing continued, else an error page was returned with astericks and messages indicating the problem (and requiring a repost).
