To add to what the others have said you might also check out
www.worthingtondata.com which is a supplier of everything
but cash drawers it seems. <g> I'm thinking that you may be headed for barcode land which is their area of expertise.
I mention this in case you need to integrate readers and cash drawers which is fairly common and in that case they might have a few suggestions for you as well.
