That's OK I said my info was old (like me).

Terry

Wow I can't believe this thread has gone by way of the legal mumbo jumbo. But, please allow me to set the record straight.

>First up. SBT. SBT does include source code and most people do buy SBT for the source code. However, SBT is sold through a reseller channel and very rarely does the end user buy/license the full development version of VFP. It is the dealer who licenses VFP and then does modifications for the user. Furthermore the report editing capabilities are also available in their compiled product which obviously includes no source code and would not be run in the full development version of VFP but rather in the run time version. Not that any of that really has any bearing on my question, but I thought I would attempt to clarify myself.

>Next it says specifically, "If your application includes the following commands, it will return the error 'Feature not available.' " Then it lists the following commands:
>
>Build App
>Modify Form
>Build Exe
>Modify Menu
>Build Project
>Modify Procedure
>Compile
>Modify Project
>Create Form
>Modify Query
>Create Menu
>Modify Screen
>Create Query
>Modify Structure (btw I think you can actually use this now in the run time)
>Create Screen
>Modify View
>Create View
>Suspend
>Modify Connection
>Set Step
>Modify Database
>
>Notice again that "Modify Report" is not on this list.

>My apologies, Terry, if it seems that I'm jumping down your throat on this reply, I don't mean to. I challenge anyone to come up with something in writing from Microsoft that says you can't use the Modify Report command and thus the report designer in the run time version of FoxPro? I have not seen it nor do I think there are any legal ramifications to doing this.

>Again, Terry I didn't mean to pick on you here. I'm just trying to set the record straight on this issue.

>>Excuse me for butting in but in my experience most people who get SBT get it in source version and compile it into an app them selves. They run it using a full version of VFP so the licensing is technically not violated. Is this the case for you also. I have read more than once that the report designer is not supposed to go with a runtime program. My information is old though I don't know what the current policy is. That is why so many query and report products are around for VFP.

It is impossible to make programs idiot proof. Idiots are too cleaver.
