ProMatrix does it, and though the rest of the grid building scheme for lookups with incremental search is slow, this feature actually works nice. As long as you keep typing, the heading of the search column is accepting what you type; as soon as you use any other navigation (arrows, tab, mouse), the heading reverts to its default value. This means user knows which column is used for searching, and the user can immediately see what they're typing, without any sacrifice of the screen real estate.
