Hi All,

I have just taken delivery of a new pc with Windows 2000 Professional installed. The techie has tried three times, unsuccessfully, to map the new wkst to an NT 4.0 Server. Other workstations are successfully mapped to that that server. The techie now tells me that the problem must be I've not installed the most recent patches to both. I'm still running patch 4 on the server and have installed no patches to Win 2000 Prof. I have no problem installing anything to Win 2000 but he (the techie) says I'll need to free up 300m of space on drive C of the server for it's patch. Once the new pc is up and running the old server is going to be repalced and I don't want to mess with it now - if I can help it. I depend on it for NT server and ColdFusion server. I'd just hate to have to do all that only to find that he still can't map the new wkst for some other reason. I'm not sure it's relevent but the old server is a 233mz and the new wkst is a dual 800mz.

Is there some known problem mapping Win 2000 Pro to NT 4.0 server without these patches??? TIA.

Regards,

Paige
