We have the same problem here in the bank, but we found out that the business unit Server is the slowest one available (with Token Ring cards), and... a still unidentified group is running a process that is compromising all the server resources. The situation has been addressed accordingly but the business unit is no planning to upgrade de server until next year.

So, we will be dealing with index corruption issues until next year.

In other words and using plain SPANISH, check your server configuration.
