I'm not sure about that. Imagine if every client could seek relief from MS or any other certifying body. That to me would be extremely unfair. At some point, you need to draw the line. Imagine if the AMA could be named as a potential defendant in every malpractice suit....
It is the responsibility of a professional to ensure that he/she is performing at a level commensurate with the average member in good standing of the profession.
Being a professional is a double edged sword. I know that many beat the drum for having the discipline of software development considered a profession. Professionals are usually held to a standard of care that non-professionals are not. Again, I say be careful what you ask for, you might just get it...< bg >..
