I too suffered for an eternity with dial-up. I then suffered in the wallet when I went with ISDN because I didn't live close enough to get DSL when it came out. Finally, DSL was available and I jumped at it. Now I also have the choice to get cable because my cable service just upgraded to fiber. It's nice to have options. :-)
