My question does not concern a database in particular but I did not where to put it.

I would like to make a little software and that software need to save data. I don't want to use a database like Access or SQL Server. Instead I would like to make my own. Does someone knows or have informaton on how to make thinks like that. It is something like the .pst file that Oulooks have to store personnal information. Quicken has something like that to, I saw a lot of little software that stores information in one file on the hard disk.
