Where is the parent grid? Same form? Does the contents of the child grid change when a key value changes [row change] in the parent grid? Are you using a parameterized view for the child grid that gets requeried when the key value changes in the parent grid? Does blanking the child grid RecordSource before the requery, doing the requery, then resetting all the grid record and column control source properties back to their original values help?

I can now not leave the combo unless I click on a different column. Clicking elsewhere in the same column flashes me there for a sec then bangs me right back down to the last record again.

>>>I have set up a test using base classes and I am still gettng this annoying effect.

>>>I have a combo box in a grid that allows the user to choose various units (CM,MM,Feet) etc
>>>
>>>The sparse property is set to .f.
>>>
>>>When ever the user clicks onto a unit to edit it the grids activerow property appears to be switching to the last last row in the grid.

>>>I am on the brink of abandoning ever using combo boxes in grids ever again.
>>>
>>>Has anyone any thoughts on this.

>>Maybe I do not understand the exact problem, but have you removed the border of the combo [BorderStyle = 0], and set its SpecialEffect property to plain?
