just to waste some time, I once tried to create a logic diagram of what printer properties were associated with the local computer, which with the printer server, which with the printer , which with the application, and which with the document! ( given that the same printer had different drivers from different machines, plus some with pass through )

the evening just flew by, I wasted a lot of paper, and decided it was a fools game!

So I use defaults and pop sys(1037) frequently! For difficult tasks, I insist the printer is LOCAL , and leave it at that!

bottom line, anyone on the network can mess up your print tasks! and setting the printer to landscape can waste everyone else's work too !
