>>>I also want to disable the grid too, but I want the user to have access to move the scroll bar (sideways and up/down). When I disable the whole grid (ThisForm.Grid1.ENABLED = .F.), it freeze the whole thing. Do I have to do field by field (I have 14 ColumnsCount).

What I want to do is disable ALL fields and grid (to prevent typo accidents by bump a key) and then upon hitting the 'Add'/'Edit' button, then enable the parent or the child (I have two 'Add/Edit/Delete' buttons for each p/c on the same form)... Any other ideas? Again, if you could take my project and look at it, maybe you would have a better idea then (it is about 35KB zipped).

Chuck,

If you make the grid readonly, the user can type to their hearts content and not accidently change the data in any field.
