>Hi all,

>I've got a 2.5 system set up on an NT network. Everyone can access it just fine, and they're all using Win95 or Win98. They got a new computer (a notebook) which is running Windows ME. This is the only computer running ME. They can get into the menu system fine, but whenever they try to access an application within the menu system, they get:
>
> Error 6 Too many files open
>
Unlike former Win9x versions, ME is not based on the DOS subsystem for startup, and as a result, it does not use the FILES= setting in CONFIG.SYS. Instead, use MSCONFIG to edit your setup; under the section for WIN.INI, in the [386Enh] section, create an entry that reads:
PerVMFiles=
xxxwhere
xxx is the maximum files per VDM to allow open; it can be a number between 20 and 224; a value larger or smaller is ignored, and 224 is equivalent to a FILES= setting of 255 under Win95 or Win98.
>Does anyone know of any problems running FPD 2.5 on a machine that's using ME? Any clues anyone can give me would be greatly appreciated.
