How about including it in the startup folder?

>hello! i've just developed a service type application developed in visual basic, on which i want to start automatically when the computer starts, So i think the best way is to include it in the services window under the administrative tools, could anyone help me with this, particularly on what programs or techniques to use, thanks! any input would help because i really have no idea on how to do this

There's two ways:

1- Use a free non supported Microsoft control.
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/techart/msdn_ntsrvocx.htm
You can download it from http://www.gvbm.org/historique.htm . Check the zip file for the September 2000 presentation.

2- Use the NT Service Toolkit from Desaware (500$).
You can download an eval version.
http://www.desaware.com/

The Desaware solution is more robust. If you have a critical application, you should spent the money.
The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves, but wiser people so full of doubts. - Bertrand Russell
