I am not among the VFP is the best tool for everything crowd. I was actually looking for information on their open source policy when I came across the VFP comments. These comments are the owner's thinking, and when a guy bashes VFP, or any other product, on the basis of "snippets", I start to wonder.
And my comments on open source and the Linux community still stand. This product will not take off with the Linux crowd if it is not open source. Even then, it has at least one serious competitor. See mySQL. And if it does not capture the Linux market, then what?
