Marc,

The VFP vs VB argument really is a big one, however I think alot of folks miss, or decde to ignore, some very important points in that analysis.

1) VB is a general purpose langauge and VFP is data centric, this means VB's market size is much larger than VFP's could ever be and therefore any intelligent company will spend more money marketing VB.

2) there is nothing in VB's data handling that VFP cannot also use (including DAO and RDO) however there is alot in VFP's data handling that VB programmers can only dream of.

3) VFP has definitley become a developer's tool for sure, but that is not necessarily a bad thing. Access is the end user database system, VFP is the developer's tool. That's why VFP is in the Visual Studio and Access is in the Office suite.

4) VB is a cash cow for Microsoft, VFP is not and never will be. VB sales are in the millions of unit while VFP sales are only 100,000's

5) as for Access, well Office sales are also counted in the millions of units while the visual studio is counted in 100,000's.
