I chose Foxspell as the spellchecker for an application for a client, and received a lot of praise for its ease of use. I tried the Chado demo, which is nice, I don't recall whether the source is available. Having the full source code to Foxspell lets you give it the real look and feel of your application. Plus, the dictionary can be easily customized. However, it required some modifications to make it work well with my text and memo VALID methods.
