given the predictability of the values, why do you need to store them?

Put another way, every number between 1 and 8 billion has an equivalent alpha string, why not just ask for the start & end string, do the math , & then display the equivalent values? ( this is a base 26 counting system! )

I don't need to store all 8 billion base 10 numbers as strings to get them on the screen, , if you see what I mean. So you don't need to store your base 26 numbers either!

KISS isn't just a great show band !
