Like any other framework, once picked you learn to maximize value. I picked codebook for a project that was started in August 95. Nothing like pop the box on VFP3.0 and start a 6 figure project - but fear and panic is such a great motivator. After completing the first version as a pretty standard form based/main prg I know that the network/multiuser requirements of the step 2 product were just not going work in the orginal structure. Surveyed what was available in late 95/early 96 (not much) found codebook. Looked ok and in the end was. Pretty steep learning curve since it's both a framework and business model in one. I have continued to use it although I am planning to look at Fox Express since it's based on CB and my conversations with them strongly indicate that they have done a good job of extended the structure plus making it more 'accessable' (plus I can use what I have already learned). I would recommend CB to anyone who is looking for a pretty complete framework, new fixes/extension have address security and error handling with the caviot that like any technology the investment you make in understanding it determines the pay pack-CB is not 'a free lunch'. I gues all this work out in the end, our client retails the application and has it installed in over 1200 sites (glad we ghost write and don't have to staff their 7x24 help desk - apps fine the topic area is complex care management)
