Cindy,

>I see you've only been here at the UT a month.

And ?

Are you saying that in this time it would be impossible to draw a conclusion from that ? I do not agree. I am here a bit longer and as I read len's message I can understand why he draws that conclusion. If you could, examine the community from outside (just try to add another account as a non american male, prefferably european or asian) and visit the UT again, ask a few questions and disagree with a GURU. notice the difference between your normal and alias account. You might get another viewpoint of the UT.

Maybe you're not aware that the VFP elite is mainly american, and therefore the american culture is emphasized here. And that's not what everybody likes to see here. (maybe a VFP developer should look outside the american box < g >)

I know that my words don't mean much to the VFP elite (after all, I tend only to disagree with them), but i've seen too much nonsense spread over here. There are things that are historicly accepted which don't make sense at all (use of the DELETED() TAG, Forced use of generated PKs, check uniqueness with SQL or SEEK in stead of using Primary or candidate indexes, MVPs who are proven incorrect and reacting in insults or silence)

Walter,

>>I do disagree on one point though - I think you'll find that this isn't a community, rather a small clique of self-appointed experts who tolerate outsiders looking in, as long as they don't express opinions at variance with their own. The "inner sanctum" do not have to give explanations for their opinions, they are holy truths.
>>
>>The whole group has the air of a fanatical religious sect, blindly worshipping Foxpro, with a small group of high priests, whose proclaimations must be accepted as god-given truths & questioning those words is tantamount to blasphemy.
>>
>>Just my opinion.
