I've used an older copy of ReFox to decompile an in-house .APP who'se source code was lost. I have no experience with ReFox's branding capabilities which are intended to prohibit decompilation without the "key."

Do you have first-hand (or trusted second hand experience with UnFoxAll decompiling an .EXE that was branded by ReFox? If so, I'm sure the ReFox folks would be interested, and I'd certianly like to hear too.

Cindy, the way I understand it, the Refox branding only works with other Refox copy. Other decompilers probably do not "honor" this branding.

OTOH, I am not sure that is what the original quesiton was about. It could've been about running the software, like hardware keys, or putting some encryption routine in your runtime that looks at the some hardware ID like a disk signature or something. I don't have any experience with that to make a recommendation.

If I were worried about this problem, at the very least I will brand every form and every report with the customer's company name. Not great, but it might help to discourage some pirates. I would also look into hardware keys.
