It all depends on what and how do you want to do it. Your message is a little broad. You have many options to choose from.

First, forget Visual J++ as it is a dead language. As of the next release of Visual Studio .Net in 2001, it does not exist anymore. You also mention Visual Interdev. You can use it now if you have it but it will not exist in VS.Net, rather it has been incorporated into the IDE.

If you want to learn JavaScript there are a number of free websites with tutorials or you can get some books.

ASP works but it will be replaced by ASP.Net in 2001.
You can use ASP and Visual Interdev today, using VBS or JS as your scripting languages. You can also use other languages like VFP or VB through COM. You can access databases like SQL Server through ASP using ADO to marshal data.

Or you can use straight VFP code if you get a tool like the excellent Web Connect from West Wind Technologies (http://www.west-wind.com)
