Would you say more people are using KDevelop right now than are using Delphi? I wouldn't think so. And Kylix certainly won't shrink the overal Delphi market share -- it can only increase it.

Within the Linux community, on Linux systems, most certainly, since Kylix isn't out yet. I question how many folks fluent in C++ and Pascal would switch from C++ (in any platform) to Kylix and Pascal. After giving it serious thought I pretty sure I won't. Most emacs users wouldn't. KDevelopers who had prior experience with Delphi *might*. But, considering the power of KDevelop, and it's price, it would be doubtful. Also, considering that the Qt widgets are also well priced against 3rd party widgets for Kylix, who would shell out $600 for Delphi (Kylix ?) and then more $$$ for third party tools? Some companies might. Especially those well conditioned to paying for propriatary software and being locked out of the code. They may not think it worth their while to get so deep into the tool set. Time will tell.
