No I didn't try it before posting the question. I was perusing a bunch of my forms changing and improving the code wherever I noticed it could be improved and ran across that code and wondered if it could or would work since I had never tried it. I looked in my 16 FoxPro books and didn't find any example of that kind of code. I assumed it might work, but since I was making so many changes besides that change, I was afraid I might get myself in trouble with all my changes happening in many parts of the form and it would be better to ask about it before I got myself into deep doo-doo. Sometimes I am a little gun shy about trying things because I feel like I don't have time to try things if I already have something that works. But on the other hand, I have a desire to always try to improve my code wherever and whenever I can.
