Nope, this is not the case. Generated PK's are esspecially usefull in xBase because of the deleted records still existing in the table. This only applies to xBase. I don't reject the use of generated keys, but I do reject the FORCED use of them. In a lot of cases the use of them are doubtfull at the least and there are other knowledgable people who reject them when not neccesary. Joe Celko is a great refference for this.
