>For a private data session does a report see the data session of the form which calls it ?

If you have a form with a private datasession, and fire a report with a public datasession from it, the report uses the form's datasession. If a report has a private datasession, it's a separate datasession of it's own, like a form with a private datasession.

Realize that running a report that shares a datasession with a form changes the record pointer of files that the form works with directly - if you need to be pointed to a specific record of a file that the report might move, you need to restore the record context after running the report.
