If we're "professionals" then in the course of our jobs we're required to be experts, interact with all types of people, take the heat at some level, etc. In the course of that, we "grow up," get a "thick skin," or whatever. We're not in kindergarten any more.

If the goal is to grow up, get a "thick skin", help others, and keep your cool, then I want to be just like John Peterson! There's a man that can present a cohesive argument while being bombarded with critisism from every corner, and still find the time to always be helpful.
