I had the same problem with labels. I think the most troublsome thing is that I have to set a custom page size in teh printer drivers before modifying the label. It seems to work well with the page size set to double the length of the label. At most, the printer will eject one label length.

It's not always the software though, I have two _seemingly_ identical Epson FX-880 dot matrix printers that were bought at the same time and have gone through pretty much the same setup. One will always page eject (letter size) while the other works perfectly. I have yet to figure out the different between the printers.
