Chris,

>I just really can't see your point of view here. You are getting free advice. Most of it is outstanding, IMO. Sometimes, it takes a while to get that outstanding advice.

Well, just for the record I can see your point of view...

Saying I get free advice isn't the whole story. I also give out free advice. I am merely making my opinion heard in the hopes of making that giving-and-getting a more enjoyable experience for all.

>If you are having a bad day and just need to rant, that's fine. But to complain that you don't get the answer you want right away... well, that's hard to support.

I am not having a particularly bad day. Do I need to have a bad day to state my opinion? I'll have to keep notes and then let loose the next time one of my server apps crashes unexpectedly. *smile*

And I wasn't complaining about not getting answers I want right away. I have never seen the UT as a dependable source for timely info anyway (that's not a bash...that's just the way I see it)...anything I get from the UT (or Usenet, MS Knowledgebase, etc.) I consider a windfall and use it if I haven't already come up with an idea in the interim.

>It does not waste my time. Although their posts may not directly answer your question, I read them and it makes me think about scrollable forms. The only posts I have found that are a waste of time are my own on my political rants. < g >

I am glad you see it that way. Sounds like a healthy viewpoint.

>Yes, exactly. It was not as if a high priest were proclaiming something from the mountain top and it went unchallenged. It was challenged, and I greatly benefitted from it. So, I think this notion of VFP high priests is bunk. There are people here who are respected, but they are not followed blindly, as some have suggested.

Some have suggested such things, yes. I was not one of the some.

>I can watch someone hit their thumb with a hammer, hear them scream, and know it is not something I want to do.

Yes, but does hearing them scream make you better at using a hammer yourself? That is the goal I desire...to be better at using a hammer, in this case, VFP.

>Actually, there is. It is in Ed Rauh's basement. < g >

Ah, so _that's_ where it is!

>It is a long stretch to go from the great advice offered here to Amway. But, to continue with the analogy, if I keep going back for dinner, as you keep coming back here, who is to blame? < g >

I wasn't trying to lay the blame on anyone in particular, and yes, the Amway extension was over the top...
